BaxterStorey were delighted to be crowned Talent Development Team of the Year at the renowned Institute of Hospitality Awards.
The winners were announced at the black-tie dinner and ceremony on Tuesday 19th June at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge in London. Fighting off stiff competition from some of the finest hospitality professionals, BaxterStorey were praised for their innovative approach to training and development through their award-winning academies and broad range of bespoke training programmes.
BaxterStorey has seen significant activity across their training and development division, including the launch of their Barista Academy and a record number of applications for its established Graduate Programme. Now in its seventh year, it receives over 500 applications from hospitality graduates every year.
Headed up by Sharon Daniel, Talent Manager and supported by Stephanie Cadogan, People Development Manager, the scheme takes a personal approach, supported with the appropriate training and experiential development.
One programme recognised by the judges was Baxterstorey’s newest training initiative; the Service Academy. The first of its kind within the hospitality industry, the programme was designed to ensure hospitality staff across the business are equipped to provide the highest levels of service, matching the skillsets of those offering top-level service outside the food service sector. The training team includes Acorn Award winner Gabrielle Le Roux, who is responsible for developing the Service Academy.
