BaxterStorey has been awarded a Gold Standard Accreditation by the Soil Association at University of the Arts London (UAL), with UAL being the first university in the UK to receive the prestigious award.
The certification, which has been given to the university for the fourth consecutive year, recognises the high standard of BaxterStorey’s catering services provided to 18,000 students.
As part of the accreditation process, all restaurants were reviewed to ensure they met the highest standards of provenance and traceability and that the students routinely received freshly prepared meals, using environmentally sustainable and seasonal ingredients.
Soil Association Certification is the country’s leading organic certifier and offers a large range of organic and sustainable certification schemes across food, farming, catering, health and beauty and forestry.
Following the audit, the BaxterStorey team were commended for using organic and free-range ingredients used throughout UAL, with a focus on seasonality and provenance.
