Presented with the ‘Spirit of the Chef Academy’ award at 2016’s graduation, Nina Mash’s commitment to her craft is outstanding. She has completed all four levels of the academy and now acts as a mentor for other chefs. Beginning her BaxterStorey career as kitchen porter, she has developed to become the head chef at one of London’s flagship locations.
The Woodspeen
In 2015, The Woodspeen Cookery School became the permanent home of our Chef Academy workshops and assessments.
Masterclasses
Our chef consultants hold regular masterclasses on a variety of topics across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Our Chefs Academy is open to all chefs within our business. The academy is made up of four levels, which means that there is something for every chef.

JANA SLAMOVA
Jana was named the top female barista at the UK Barista Championship in 2015. Jana became BaxterStorey's 'Rising Star' in 2016 and today holds the position of National Barista Trainer for our Academy. Her journey with BaxterStorey started in 2010 when she joined as a sales assistant. Her focus coupled with our award winning training programmes has helped Jana to fulfill her coffee dreams.

Our Advanced Management Programme guides some of our best managers through an 18 month development plan.
Ed was one of the first managers to complete the AMP, where he learnt skills in management, leadership, personal effectiveness and business presentation. Last year, he was shortlisted for Catering Manager of the Year at the FoodService Cateys. Ed was recently promoted to Operations Manager within our London region.

GEORGIE WISHART
It was Georgie's love of food and people that drew her to BaxterStorey's Momentum Programme. She gained grass root experience through location and project management. Georgie's role now also includes social media and managing our PR team.

Our apprentice recruits come from all walks of life and have the desire to learn new skills and gain experience.
SALEEM RAHIED
Saleem now works as a qualified Commis Chef at a flagship BaxterStorey location. His learning continues having just secured a place on our Chef Academy programme level two.
