Kickstarting my BaxterStorey career, I joined the Graduate Programme in 2015. Packed with food festivals, cutting-edge masterclasses, fantastic mentoring, mobilisations including temporarily relocating to Nottingham, networking opportunities and socials! I was fortunate enough to be offered a general manager role at a flagship Formula 1 location. Key highlights included developing and launching a new state-of-the-art restaurant space, and high-end hospitality package as well as delivering a variety of off-site events.
As a team we achieved top three (in both 2017 and 2019!) for the BaxterStorey Team of the Year Award, and I was a finalist for Institute of Hospitality’s 2019 Aspiring Manager Award. Being able to apply all my graduate training and seeing my team members develop and progress alongside me has been so rewarding.
I was also accepted onto BaxterStorey’s Advanced Management Journey. As a project team we were set the task of reducing burns and scalds across the entire business and subsequently rolled out an e-learning programme to all our team members to ensure their safety. These experiences led me onto my current account manager role, at a leading online fashion retailer.
We’ve just launched our very own foodie home delivery service and website, delivering DIY kits and letterbox gifts to our customers’ homes – a very exciting project! Staying on top of industry trends and engaging customers both on-site and working from home has been at the forefront of our 2021 (and beyond) vision and we’re excited to take this to the next level.
I look forward to continuing my development journey by embarking on a Senior Leadership MBA through Arden University to help me achieve my goal of becoming a senior operator within our business one day.
