Our award-winning Chef Academy was set up in 2005 to empower our chefs through skills and qualifications to be bold and creative in their kitchens. Five of our Academy apprentices have done just that and introduced ‘Food EQ’, which has revolutionised the way BaxterStorey approach sustainable food.
Our chef apprentices sparked a transformation to the way we source, cook, plate our dishes and prepare our menus in our business –making grains and vegetables the stars of the plate. Prioritising how our dishes can improve the health and wellbeing of client’s workforce, Food EQ also factors in the importance of sustainability from animal welfare, social impacts including community engagement, and maintaining the UK supply chain.
It’s a bold but exciting step, and we’re proud our teams have led us to be part of a global movement making the wellness and sustainability of our planet a key stakeholder when it comes to nutritious and sustainable meals.
