A Recipe for Success at London Met Uni
Hold onto your taste buds, because we’re diving into the culinary spotlight as the fresh faces behind the food scene at London Metropolitan University.
Revolutionising the food offer across Aldgate and Holloway campuses, we’re on a mission to dish out nutritious, delicious dishes to 13,500 hungry students.
All four food outlets will see a transformation, alongside the Highbury Canteen, reopening as a street food style market. A vibrant space that’s all about mingling and munching, where the food and beverage experience takes centre stage.
Dishes on the new menu include tofu katsu curry with sticky rice and kimchi slaw, roasted vegetable gnocchi, and loaded Turkish chicken flatbreads with hummus, minted yoghurt and sweet chilli.
We’re not stopping at just food either. The hospitality services have had a glow up as our team are tasked with revamping the hospitality services to shine a light on the university’s event space.
Students can quench their thirst with social enterprise Nemi teas, as well as tucking into social enterprise confectionary and regeneratively grown Wildfarmed pasta.
Our squad of 17 obsessed foodies are ready to rock as they take charge of the epic transformation. The whole team will also receive hands-on training from expert roasters, Extract in Bermondsey.
Wellness and nutrition gurus, Andy Aston and Lizzie Hennig have teamed up with hospitality services manager Daniel Caleb to create up a campus wellness programme, working with this year’s Dietetics students on a placement aimed to enhance the food offer to students.
Managing director, Sarah Miller said: “We are delighted to be developing a partnership with London Metropolitan University. They have a long-standing culture of enhancing the student experience through sustainable initiatives, people development and a strong community focus – these values are all absolutely in tune with ours”.
Doors will open on Monday 11th September, just in time for the academic year.
