Introducing Rothesay Rooms
We are incredibly proud to be named as the new custodians to a beautifully celebrated restaurant in the heart of Royal Deeside.
Rothesay Rooms was first opened as a pop-up eating destination by HRH King Charles. He wanted to drive tourism and employment to the area following flooding and fire in the village in 2015. Housed in Ballater’s historic Old Royal Station, Rothesay Rooms has a flourishing reputation rubber-stamped by several awards, including being named in the Michelin Guide for the past five years.
We’re fiercely protective of its unique heritage. We have created a menu which celebrates the best in Scottish produce and continues to be at the heart of the community.
Our afternoon tea includes bites of Ballater venison, wholesome sandwiches layered with local smoked salmon and homemade scones, accompanied with a glass of fizz. Or customers can join us for a barista coffee and wee treat of shortbread or brownie.
This stunning menu uses produce from some of the most renowned suppliers in Ballater, including H M Sheridan and Roaring Stag. Both share our values on sustainable souring and won’t settle for anything less than excellence.
Rothesay Rooms is one of Royal Deeside’s most revered restaurants. It’s a privilege to be a part of its future.
We hope to welcome you soon!
