With homelessness on the rise by 23% across London, we have launched our first Society festive sandwich range, with 10% of proceeds going to Beyond Food Foundation, a charity providing training and support to people that have been impacted by homelessness.
The proceeds will go straight into the travel hardship fund that we have at Beyond Food, which enables apprentices to get to work in an easier, happier and safe environment.
For anyone looking to get a taste of Christmas early, the festive sandwiches will hit the shelves in our locations on Monday 15th November.
Sandwiched between Roberts Bakery malted bread, our Festive Turkey sandwich includes thick slices of Midland’s smoked turkey, British bacon, cranberry sauce, sage and onion stuffing mayonnaise and baby spinach.
There’s also something for the cheese lovers this year! The Festive Cheeseboard Bloomer is packed with Barber’s mature cheddar, a Wensleydale, cranberry and cream cheese mix and celery, topped with a spiced apple, fig and cider chutney.
Jasmine Cooke, creative lead for The Society said: “A Christmas sandwich is always a firm favourite across our locations, so it’s important we created something that our customers would love. No Christmas is complete without turkey or a cheeseboard!”
Alger Barrington, culinary director at WePrepare commented: “We source only the best ingredients for Society; all our paninis and focaccias come from a local family run bakery, Il Fornaio and their recipes have been passed down many generations. It’s really important for our customers to know where their food comes from”.
