Social Co Belfast

BaxterStorey opens new Belfast-based restaurant, Social Co

We are delighted to have extended our partnership with one of the Big Four accounting firms by launching their brand-new restaurant and hospitality offer in the heart of Belfast city centre.

With a pledge to bring its workforce back into the city centre, the new office building opened on 19th July, is the firm’s largest office outside London.

The ‘Social Co’ is an exciting hospitality space offering an all-day grazing menu focused on seasonal ingredients, with dishes including scrambled tofu, rye bread, pumpkin seed butter with pomegranate; pea shoot and duck salad and pulled BBQ jackfruit bao buns.

BaxterStorey chef Dan Breslin is the inspiration behind the hospitality offer, with a relaxed approach to client dining. From a build-your-own salad bar to a warm Ewings smoked salmon and labneh bowl with pomegranate and roasted fennel, each dish is focussed on locally sourced produce, including the popular Fivemiletown baked goats cheese tart with poached beetroot and candied pecans, and squash and wild mushroom paella with cauliflower and asparagus.

Led by general manager Colette Armstrong and operations support manager Anish Patel, the Social Co team, supported by Portico Welcome Team Members have taken the dining experience to a new digital age with click and collect, click and deliver and table service all through the restaurant’s online ordering platform. Fully customisable options such as build-your-own smoothie bowl are all delivered in eco-friendly containers and have led to a significant reduction in food waste as customers order dishes to their own preferences.

Further inspired by the client’s ambition to support social enterprises, Social Co have formed partnerships with Tony’s Chocolonely, Tea People and Rubies in the Rubble ketchup, alongside a dedicated counter for chef tables, local supplier pop ups and live masterclasses.

Even the coffee supports local, with a botanical-themed coffee lounge hosting a state-of-the-art ModBar countertop coffee machine, the first one to be installed in Northern Ireland and 22 free issue refreshment hubs within the offices serve coffee from Bailies Coffee Roasters, supplied on the doorstep from Belfast itself.

WSH Account Director, Louise Denton commented: “It’s been a pleasure to bring Social Co to Belfast; I’m so proud of Colette, Anish and my team for bringing our vision to life. It was important to us that we bring the same energy and enthusiasm to the hospitality offering in Belfast as we do here in the UK. We look forward to continuing to provide nutritious, delicious dishes prepared by our highly skilled teams.”
